Northeast Avalon ACAP’s latest work in Lundrigan’s Marsh was a serious bout of tree planting in a restored area. The aim of our work was to remove debris and help soften the edge between the marsh and neighbouring properties. With the help of the Grand Concourse Authority, we were able to remove old dumped concrete from one edge of the marsh and create new space to plant trees.
Here’s what the space looked like before:
And here’s what it looked like when the heavy work was almost done and during planting:
Lundrigan’s Marsh has a softer edge now!
A big thank you to Laura King from Stewardship Association of Municipalities and our dedicated Northeast Avalon staff and board members for coming out to help plant trees. We also thank PF Collins and Transportation & Works NL for providing access to the site. Come down for stroll and check out our work.
