Do you live close to the Waterford River on the Northeast Avalon? Have you enjoyed walking the river and seeing the sights and sounds? The Waterford River is an important and historic river for St. John’s, Mount Pearl and surrounding communities. It is everyone’s wish to keep the river alive and vibrant, naturally healthy and pristine for generations to come.
You can play a role in helping to do just that! There are cleanups to participate in, such as the upcoming City of Mount Pearl Waterford River Cleanup Blitz on May 25. You can also help in other ways, as described on our Waterford River – Maintaining Natural Beauty in an Urban Landscape Brochure located on our projects tab. Things such as:
- Be aware of dangers to the river, such as spills, sewage, garbage and erosion. Share your knowledge with others!
- Walk the river and take note. Send your photos or experiences to groups like NAACAP or the Rotary Club of the Waterford Valley
- Like NAACAP on facebook (www.facebook.com/NAACAP.NL) or follow us on twitter
